Product description

Battery 'fuel gauge', remaining running indicator and much more

The BMV-702 is a high-precision battery monitor.
The main function of a battery monitor is to calculate the ampere-hours consumed and the battery's state of charge. The ampere-hours consumed are calculated by integrating the current flowing into and out of the battery.

Remaining battery capacity depends on the consumed ampere-hours, discharge current, temperature, and battery age. Complex software algorithms are required to account for all these variables. In addition to basic display options such as voltage, current, and consumed ampere-hours, the BMV-702 series also displays the state of charge, remaining runtime, and power consumption in watts.

Bluetooth Smart

With the Bluetooth Smart dongle you can monitor your batteries via an Apple or Android smartphone, tablet, MacBook or other devices.

Easy installation

All electrical connections are made via the circuit board connector on the power shunt. The shunt is connected to the monitor via a standard RJ12 telephone cable.
Included in delivery: RJ12 cable (10 m) and battery cable with fuse (2 m). No additional components are required. Also included are a separate front panel for a square or round display, a security ring for rear mounting, and screws for front mounting.

Easy programming (with your smartphone!)

A quick installation menu and a detailed, scrolling setup menu assist users as they adjust the various settings. Alternatively, a quick and easy solution is available: Download the smartphone app (Bluetooth Smart dongle required).

Monitoring of the center voltage (exclusive to the BMV 702!)

This feature, commonly used in industry to monitor large and expensive battery banks, is now available for the first time at a more affordable price so that any battery bank can be monitored.
A battery bank consists of a string of cells connected in series. The midpoint voltage is the voltage halfway along the string. Ideally, the midpoint voltage is exactly half of the total voltage.
In practice, however, deviations occur. These depend on numerous factors, such as different states of charge in new batteries or cells, different temperatures, internal leakage currents, capacities, and many more.
Large or increasing deviations in the midpoint voltage indicate improper battery care or a faulty battery or cell. Corrective action following a midpoint voltage alarm can prevent serious damage to an expensive battery.

Standard functions
