A charge controller is the heart of every off-grid solar system. It charges the battery in a controlled manner using solar energy.

The WSL 40.150 charge controller from the MPPT series was developed using our extensive know-how to create a cost-effective yet powerful model . In particular, the commissioning and wide range of solar modules compatible with this charge controller make our WSL 40.150 an entry-level product for large solar off-grid systems.


Our solar charge controller offers ultra-fast MPPT charging and can therefore increase the yield of your solar system. Especially under overcast skies, when the light intensity is constantly changing, a fast MPPT controller improves energy yield by up to 30% compared to PWM charge controllers.

LCD display

The WSL 40.150 from the MPPT series features a built-in LCD display that provides easy access to a wealth of information about your solar system. This makes reading the battery charge level or load current simple and requires no accessories. Precise measurements allow you to keep track of your solar system. Energy flows are displayed in real time, and a statistics function allows you to view the total solar yield over a longer period of time.

Temperature sensor – internal and external

The internal temperature sensor in the WSL 40.150 compensates for constant and float charge voltages based on temperature. The included external temperature sensor can be easily connected to your WSL as needed. The external sensor allows the charging voltage to be automatically adjusted depending on the ambient temperature.

Maximum yields thanks to intelligent MPPT technology

The WSL-MPPT series from WATTSTUNDE® works with the maximum power point tracking principle .
With MPPT technology, the controller determines the optimal operating point of the solar modules several times per second.
The WSL 40.150 can thus transform the excess voltage from the solar modules into an increased charging current for the battery. This increased charging current ensures shorter charging times and optimal performance utilization of the solar system.

System voltage

The WSL 40.150 features automatic system voltage detection . It can operate at either 24 V or 48 V. It also features day/night control and a light dimming option.

Comprehensive electronic protection

To avoid problems when operating the charge controller, our device offers:
- Overheating protection and load reduction at high temperatures
- Protection against PV short circuit and PV reverse polarity
- PV reverse current protection
- automatic load shutdown in case of imminent battery undervoltage (deep discharge protection)

Cooling by metal fins

The WSL 40.150 features a solid metal housing with integrated cooling fins . The cooling back allows for easy installation and is manufactured from high-quality materials according to industry standards.

Intelligent load shedding

The WSL charges the battery reliably and gently and protects it from dangerous deep discharge by automatically disconnecting its loads with the help of intelligent load shedding when the battery reaches a critical charge level.
