A solar system frequently undergoes cyclical charging and discharging processes, placing a significant strain on the energy storage system. Wattstunde's AGM batteries are a very good choice because they offer high cycle stability and thus a long service life, even when used in a PV system. Their high robustness (high resistance to vibration and tilt) ensures reliable operation even under harsh conditions.

Structure of the batteries
These are valve-regulated and maintenance-free VRLA batteries. The electrolyte is enclosed in a fiberglass mat (AGM = Absorbent Glass Mat), resulting in virtually no gassing. This allows for use even in enclosed spaces or in close proximity to people.
Another advantage of AGM technology: The leak-proof design allows the battery to be installed in any position (not just horizontally), thus guaranteeing maximum installation flexibility. In the event of a fault (for example, connecting a defective charger), the integrated safety valve ensures that gas can escape.

Notes on battery capacity
The amount of energy that can be drawn from a battery depends heavily on the time it takes to discharge. This is reflected in the so-called C value. The number after the C indicates the discharge time in hours.
The faster the battery is discharged, the smaller the amount of usable energy.
When discharged within 20 hours (C20), 50 Ah are available.
