One set - many applications
These kits are the perfect foundation for your off-grid power supply and offer a solid basis for a wide range of applications. The convenient USB charging function allows for easy charging of mobile phones, tablets, or laptops. All devices with 5V (USB, max 2A) or 12V (controllable load output) can be charged quickly and easily off-grid.
Which charge controller is the right one?
Basically, one can distinguish between two charging technologies: PWM or MPPT.
Pulse-width modulation (PWM) is a simple and robust way to charge a solar battery safely and quickly. The stored characteristic curve protects the battery from incorrect currents or voltages; the controller implements the appropriate values depending on the state of charge. The controllers in the LR-ALCD series are therefore a cost-effective yet reliable solution.
In recent years, the modern Maximum PowerPoint Track (MPPT) method has become increasingly prevalent.
Intelligent microprocessor electronics constantly determine the operating point for maximum energy efficiency. Even higher voltages are optimally utilized for charging. This allows WSL MPPT series controllers to generate up to 30% higher yields compared to traditional PWM devices.
It's possible to select a charge controller that's "oversized" initially. This allows you to retrofit identical solar panels later. For example, if energy consumption increases or the system was undersized – no problem, simply install another panel, and the solar system will grow with your needs!
All controllers feature an integrated LCD display – system voltages and currents are shown in real time. Keep a constant eye on your power supply.
