Product description
50 A charging converter/charging booster from Victron
DC-DC converter for charging a 12 V or 24 V battery in vehicles with an intelligent
Alternator
Particularly suitable for regenerative braking, Euro 5 and Euro 6 engines.
The DC-DC converter Buck-Boost is a DC-DC converter for charging a 12V or 24V battery in
Vehicles with an intelligent alternator. The converter charges the auxiliary battery
with a preset charging voltage, whereby high voltages (e.g. Mercedes: 15.4V) or
low voltages are eliminated.
Charging booster for travel vehicles
Buck boosters ensure fast and efficient charging of the supply battery from the alternator while driving. Unlike a simple cut-off relay, the charging voltage is increased to the value required for a full charge for the respective battery type and specified by the battery manufacturer. This allows the full charging current to flow, charging significant amounts of current into the battery in a short time. Long charging lines and losses, as well as voltage fluctuations at the alternator, are smoothly compensated.
The free programmability allows the device to increase the voltage (from 12 V to 24 V), decrease the voltage (24 V to 12 V) or only adjust to the appropriate charging voltage (12/12 V or 24/24 V systems).
System for detecting the "engine running" state
A deep discharge of the vehicle’s starter battery is prevented by a built-in system
prevents that detects when the "engine is running".
Instead of this detection system, the converter can also be controlled by a programmable
input must be activated (D+, CANbus or (+)15 connection).
Fully programmable
The converter can be fully configured using a simple and user-friendly PC application
program.
(A USB Type A male to USB Type B male cable is required)
One product for 12V, 24V and 12/24V systems
The converter can be programmed to use a 12V or a 24V auxiliary battery either
charges via a 12V or 24V alternator or starter battery.
Input current limit
The output current is determined by the following factors:
- The setting of the maximum charging current.
- The setting of the maximum input current.
- Limiting the maximum operating temperature of the converter.
