5 reasons why you need a solar system for your motorhome!

5 Gründe, warum du eine Solaranlage für dein Wohnmobil brauchst!

You've bought a motorhome, lovingly restored and converted it, and are about to embark on your first RV trip. Now it's high time to consider whether you need a solar system. The benefits are quite clear. We've summarized our top 5 reasons why you need a solar system for your motorhome:

  1. You are independent and self-sufficient!
Being independent and being able to travel the world is something we all dream of, right? But the reality is often different. Your onboard battery is almost dead again, and you were planning to stay in this beautiful spot with your motorhome for a few more days, but then there's no coffee tomorrow morning, and you can't cook anything tonight either, so you pack up everything and find the next spot on the route. So the onboard battery can get a little charge...
  2. You have more comfort when camping
...that wouldn't have happened with a solar panel or solar system! They make it possible to stay in one place for several days and enjoy the time. It doesn't matter whether you have a mobile solar panel that you can individually orient to the sun or a permanently installed panel on your roof. The important thing is that you orient it toward the sun.
  3. You want to travel more sustainably!
Also worth remembering is that your onboard battery is usually only charged by the alternator while you're driving. So, driving just to charge your onboard battery is the opposite of sustainability.
  4. Your on-board battery is recharged by solar
With a solar panel on your motorhome, the onboard battery is recharged. It's also possible to charge an additional battery, making you even more independent and self-sufficient. So nothing stands in the way of a morning coffee and a warm meal in the evening.
  5. Solar energy is free and available almost everywhere
Okay, admittedly, you're not always lucky with the sun, especially if you're traveling in Great Britain, the country with the fewest hours of sunshine on average. But solar energy is completely free, and the modules have been improved and adapted so much in recent years that they can fully recharge batteries even with little sunshine.

In short, solar panels for RVs are not only very trendy right now, but they can also contribute to greater comfort and sustainability on your next camping trip. You're also doing something good for the environment if your RV stays parked for a few days and the battery is charged by solar energy instead of the alternator. With a solar panel on your RV, you can definitely enjoy the sunny side of camping to the fullest!
