15 useful and fun camping gadgets you absolutely should have! Or maybe not ;-)

15 nützliche und lustige Camping Gadgets, die Du unbedingt haben solltest! Oder auch nicht ;-)

The world of gadgets is vast, and there are so many fun and useful inventions for RVs, campers, and the like in the camping sector. We've gone on a search and compiled a list for you. We find some gadgets very well thought out and useful, while others are rather superfluous in our opinion. Find out now which ones are useful for you and which ones you definitely don't need.

1. Flint

Anyone who's watched 7 vs. Wild is now shouting, "You definitely need this!" We also think a fire steel is quite handy when camping. That is, of course, if you actually plan on having a campfire. Lighting candles in a camper is better done with a lighter or a match.

2. Retractable clothesline

Is your towel still wet from bathing and you don't know what to do with it? We've found this gadget for you: a retractable clothesline. You can easily stretch it between your RV and a tree. The cool thing about it is that you don't have to rewind it every time you use it.

3. Survival kit (with axe and hammer)

For true survival enthusiasts, such a kit is definitely very useful, and you should always have some tools with you when camping. But if you're traveling from campsite to campsite, you probably won't need anything.

4. Foldable kettle

The foldable kettle doesn't require electricity; it simply sits on the stovetop to heat the water. A definite plus is that it folds up, fitting into almost any corner. If you drink a lot of hot drinks, this gadget definitely makes sense.

5. Power bank with solar

Going without our cell phones is difficult for all of us, isn't it? But what if you run out of power while camping? Then it's definitely useful to have a power bank with you that can also be charged with solar energy. Simply place it in the sun, and the battery will recharge, so you don't have to go without your smartphone.

6. Pocket-sized chainsaw

Next up is the pocket-sized chainsaw. When was the last time you needed a chainsaw on a camping trip? Was there perhaps a tree in the way? And then just consider whether you can saw through a tree with a chainsaw. For us, that falls into the category of "you can have it, but you don't have to!"

7. Travel towels

Because the travel towels are made of microfiber, they dry quickly and take up little space. Especially in combination with the extendable clothesline from point 2, we find this gadget particularly suitable for everyday camping.

8. Toilet stool

Whether you build it yourself or buy it online, this gadget is really only for serious campers and outdoor enthusiasts who love to be self-sufficient in nature. The advantage, however, is that the toilet stool can be folded up small and takes up very little space.

9. Foldable solar shower

Again, this is only for true outdoor camping fans! But it's also super practical, as the water is heated by the sun, allowing you to have a quick shower in the morning. However, if you're camping, this gadget isn't worth it for you, as the showers at the campsite are certainly much more comfortable.

10. Drinking bottle with water filter

Unfortunately, drinking water isn't available in all countries. A water filter is useful for such situations. This treats the water so that it's safe to drink. So, if you don't have access to drinking water, a water filter is a good alternative.

11. Mobile washing machine

There's actually a laundromat in every major city where you can do your laundry while traveling in your RV. However, if you're planning on being on the road for several weeks, a mobile washing machine can be a good idea. However, you'll need to bring enough water, otherwise you won't be able to do your laundry with it.

12. Mobile coffee machine

A must-have for all coffee lovers while camping! All you need is this small coffee maker, a coffee pod, and hot water, and you can make a cup of coffee on the go. Perfect for anyone traveling with a small campervan who doesn't want to miss out on their morning coffee.

13. Camping lamp with UV mosquito killer

Who likes mosquitoes? Especially in the evening, when you're still sitting around the campsite with your neighbors, relaxing and unwinding, those nasty mosquitoes can be a real nuisance. And that's exactly what the UV mosquito killer is designed to prevent. The UV light attracts and traps mosquitoes. The lamp is easily charged with a USB cable.

14. Music box with solar

A life without music is possible, but pointless, we believe. That's why we consider a solar-powered jukebox an absolute must-have. With it, you'll never run out of music again.

15. Foldable bowls and dishes

With these foldable bowls and dishes, you can save a lot of space, which is especially important for long-term vanlifers. Especially when you're constantly on the road and living in a motorhome, it's important to have space-saving items with you. These bowls are really handy for that.

And that's it for our 15 camping gadgets. Now you've gotten a rough overview of the gadgets in the camping world. Was there anything you'd love to have on your next trip? Or are you already fully equipped with all sorts of gadgets?
