Solar power systems frequently experience cyclical charging and discharging processes, placing a high strain on the energy storage system. Wattstunde's AGM batteries are an excellent choice because they offer high cycle stability, ensuring a long service life even when used in PV systems. Their high robustness (high resistance to vibration and tilting) guarantees reliable operation even under harsh conditions.

Battery construction
These are valve-regulated and maintenance-free VRLA batteries. The electrolyte is bound in a glass fiber mat (AGM = Absorbent Glass Mat), so that virtually no gassing occurs. This allows for use even in enclosed spaces or in close proximity to people.
Another advantage of AGM technology: Its leak-proof design allows the battery to be installed in any position (not just horizontally), thus guaranteeing maximum installation flexibility. In the event of a fault (for example, connecting a defective charger), the integrated safety valve ensures that gas can escape.

Information on battery capacity
The amount of energy that can be drawn from a battery depends heavily on the discharge time. This is represented by the so-called C-rating. The number following the C indicates the discharge time in hours. The faster the battery discharges, the smaller the usable energy output.
With a discharge within 20 hours (C20), 33 Ah are available.

Notice

AGM batteries should ideally not be discharged below 50%, which corresponds to a resting voltage of approximately 12.25 V to 12.3 V (at 50% charge), to maximize their lifespan; deep discharge below 11.8 V should be avoided as this greatly reduces performance and cycle life, although some special AGM types (semi-traction) can go down to 70%, 50% is the standard for most applications.
