Sika® Primer-207 – Your reliable primer for strong bonds

Sika® Primer-207 is an essential black, solvent-based primer that acts as an efficient bonding agent between the substrate and the adhesive thanks to its moisture-reactive, film-forming properties. Specially developed for the pretreatment of bonding surfaces in combination with Sikaflex® adhesives, this primer offers excellent adhesion to numerous substrates even without the use of Sika® Activator. A special feature of Sika® Primer-207 is its fluorescence under long-wave UV light, which is used for process control.

Pigmented, versatile primer

Sika® Primer-207 is ideal for improving adhesion to a wide variety of surfaces, including glass, ceramic-coated glass, plastics, primers, painted surfaces, e-coats, and metals. However, follow the manufacturer's recommendations when applying to materials prone to stress cracking. Preliminary tests on actual materials are recommended to prevent stress cracking. This product is specifically designed for experienced users to ensure optimal adhesion and material compatibility.

Shake Sika® Primer-207 thoroughly until the steel balls in the container can be heard. Shake for another minute. Application can be done with a brush, felt, or foam applicator. Apply Sika® Primer-207 evenly and thinly, but with sufficient coverage.
The optimal processing and surface temperature is between 15 °C and 25 °C.
Apply the primer only once. Make sure that the single application provides sufficient coverage.
Consumption and method of application depend on the nature of the substrate.
Close containers tightly immediately after each use.

Instructions for use

Shake the Sika® Primer-207 thoroughly before use. It should be applied using a brush, felt, or foam applicator and should be even, thin, and opaque. Ensure that the optimal application and surface temperature is between 15°C and 25°C and that the primer is only applied once. Consumption and application method vary depending on the surface condition. Carefully close the container after each use. Cleaning and Pretreatment: For optimal adhesion, surfaces must be clean, dry, and free of grease, oil, dust, and other contaminants. Additional pretreatment steps such as sanding, cleaning, and activating can further improve adhesion before applying the primer.
