Product description
Compact charge controller for 12V/24V systems / 6A
The FOX-062 is a state-of-the-art miniature charge controller for 12V and 24V solar systems. Despite its small dimensions, the overcharge protection is designed for a solar current of 6A. Reverse current protection is integrated.
The charging characteristic can be adjusted for lead-acid, GEL, or AGM batteries using the red DIP switch in the controller housing. Current LiFePO4 batteries are also supported. The recess can be closed with a slider, preventing accidental adjustment and preventing dirt from entering.
On the solar input side, there's a SureSeal socket into which the module cable with the SureSeal connector can be plugged. On the output side, to the battery, there's a vehicle connector with an integrated fuse. If the red adapter at the end of the connector is removed, a vehicle socket can also be used.
Further special features at a glance- 12V / 24V system voltage
- 6 A max. solar current (Isc)
- 100 watts of solar power at 12V
- 200 watts of solar power at 24V
- LED indicators

High charging efficiency
The charge controller is designed as a series controller with active reverse current protection. This achieves a charging efficiency of 98%. Compared to MPPT controllers, this type of controller offers up to 20% higher charging performance when using 12V or 24V solar modules. High converter losses are completely eliminated. The series controller excels, particularly in low-light conditions, where converter losses with MPPT controllers almost completely destroy the yield. Since the FOX-062 operates with virtually no losses, no heat sink is required. This is the best example of the circuit's optimal layout.
Automatic 12V/24V detection
After plugging in the controller, it checks the current battery voltage and uses this to determine the system battery voltage. No adjustments are required for this. For safety reasons, the controller will not start if the battery voltage is below 8.6V, as the battery may be defective.
LED display
The FOX-062 features a 3-color LED. By combining the LED color and flashing frequency, a variety of battery and charge information is displayed.
flashing red: battery empty (< 20%)="">
Red constant: Battery low (<30%)>
orange: battery normal (30%-70%)
Green constant: Battery normal (>70%)
flashing green: battery full (100%)
When charging current flows from the solar module to the battery, the LED flickers briefly every few seconds. When the power cord is unplugged, the LED goes out—even if a solar module is connected.
