Cyrix battery coupler Li-ion series: Li-Charge

How the Cyrix-Li-Charge works

The Cyrix-Li-Charge connects a battery charger with a delay time of 3 seconds:

  • when the VE. Bus BMS "Charge Disconnect" output is high and
  • if it measures 13.7 V (or 27.4 V) or more at its battery charger terminal and
  • when it measures 2V or more at its battery terminal (the Cyrix remains open when not connected to the battery).

    The Cyrix-Li-Charge will shut down immediately if its control input reaches a free-floating (open-circuit) state, indicates a cell overvoltage, or indicates a cell overtemperature. A cell overvoltage alarm is generally reset shortly after charging is stopped.
    The Cyrix will then reconnect the charger after a 3-second delay. After two attempts to reconnect the device at 3-second intervals, this delay increases to 10 minutes. Whenever the battery voltage falls below 13.5V (or 27V or 54V), the Cyrix will shut down after a 1-hour delay.
    Note 1: If the discharge current is 0 or there is only a very low discharge current, the Cyrix will not switch off shortly after the charger is switched off and/or disconnected because the battery voltage remains above 13.5 V.
    Note 2: If the battery charger output immediately rises to 13.7V or more after the Cyrix has shut down, the Cyrix will restart with a delay of 3 seconds.
