Product description
Victron 12.8V Lithium SuperPack batteries 200 Ah
SuperPack batteries are extremely easy to install, requiring no additional components. The internal switch disconnects the batteries in the event of deep discharge, overcharging, or excessive temperature. The batteries can be connected in parallel. Series connection is not permitted.
Integrated BMS and safety switch
SuperPack batteries are extremely easy to install, requiring no additional components. The internal switch disconnects the batteries in the event of deep discharge, overcharging, or excessive temperature.
Protected against improper use
A lead-acid battery will fail prematurely due to sulfation in the following cases:
• If it is operated for a long time in an insufficiently charged state (e.g. the battery is rarely or never fully charged).
• If it is left in a partially discharged or worse, completely discharged state.
A lithium-ion battery doesn't need to be fully charged. Its operating life is even slightly increased if the battery is partially charged instead of fully charged. This is a significant advantage of lithium-ion batteries over lead-acid batteries. SuperPack batteries interrupt the charging or discharging current if the maximum rated values are exceeded.
Efficient
For many applications (particularly off-grid solar systems), energy efficiency can be crucial. The energy efficiency of a charging cycle (discharging from 100% to 0% and recharging to 100%) for an average lead-acid battery is approximately 80%. In contrast, the energy efficiency of a charging cycle for a lithium-ion battery is 92%. The charging process of a lead-acid battery becomes particularly inefficient once the 80% state of charge mark is reached, resulting in energy efficiency levels of only 50%. This figure is even lower for solar systems, as energy reserves for several days are required (the battery operates at a state of charge between 70% and 100%). A lithium-ion battery, on the other hand, still achieves an energy efficiency of 90%, even when in a shallow state of discharge.
