Votronic VAC 1224-16 Battery Charger 12V/24V 16A – Precise charging technology for emergency vehicles

The Votronic VAC 1224-16 (MPN 0524) is a fully automatic battery charger from the VAC Station series , designed for fire engines and emergency vehicles in accordance with DIN 14679. It ensures reliable and gentle charging of 12V and 24V batteries , automatically compensating for voltage losses in the vehicle wiring, at the charging plug, and in the coiled charging cable. This guarantees precise adherence to the optimal charging voltage – regardless of cable lengths or mains fluctuations.

Included in the scope of delivery is a 5 m oil and acid resistant spiral charging cable , which allows for flexible use in vehicle halls or at stationary charging points.

Intelligent charging technology & maximum safety

The charger uses a microprocessor-controlled IU1oU2oU3 charging curve , ensuring fast, gentle full charging and subsequent trickle charging. Six individually selectable charging programs allow for adaptation to different battery types – whether lead-acid, gel, or AGM batteries .

Automatic regeneration & continuous operation

The VAC 1224-16 is designed for continuous operation and can remain permanently connected to the battery. It regulates the voltage without spikes, thus preventing overcharging. An automatic battery regeneration cycle is triggered twice a week to prevent acid stratification during extended periods of inactivity.

A built-in on-board power supply filter ensures that parallel operation with alternators, generators or power supplies is possible without any problems.
