WAGO Green Range lever terminal block – Series 221-423: Fast, safe, and now more sustainable

Even small changes can make a big difference – that's why the WAGO 221 Series splice connector has been redesigned. The new Green Range version is partially made of biocircular and recycled plastics, thus contributing to the conservation of natural resources. Without compromising on quality and safety, it remains the proven solution for fast, safe, and flexible electrical installations.

With a rated voltage of 450 V and a current carrying capacity of up to 32 A, the terminal block is ideal for a wide range of applications. Thanks to the innovative CAGE CLAMP® technology, conductors can be connected without tools, requiring no pretreatment or wire end ferrules. The compact dimensions (18.8 x 8.4 x 18.6 mm) enable space-saving installation, while the transparent housing ensures quick visual inspection. The terminal blocks in this series have three conductors, i.e., three clamping points, and are available in packs of 50.

How does wiring work with WAGO terminals?

WAGO terminal blocks are very small and compact. Their extremely small dimensions make them ideal for tight spaces. This allows for easy installation and also leaves room for future expansion. Operation is intuitive, and connecting conductors is quick and easy. The levers open and close with minimal effort. Thanks to the recessed grips on the sides, WAGO terminal blocks are firmly in place in any situation. The procedure for connecting conductors is as follows:

1. Strip the desired conductors
2. Open WAGO terminal with the lever
3. Insert the ladder
4. Close the lever

The transparent housing allows you to continuously check the conductor position. The contact point is gas-tight, ensuring permanently secure contact between the conductor and the busbar. Two easily accessible test openings (one located in the direction of the conductor connection and the other on the opposite side) make testing very convenient, even when installed. The terminal block is suitable for ambient temperatures of up to 85°C, and the maximum terminal temperature according to the UL standard is 105°C. WAGO terminal blocks have globally recognized approvals. If you want to separate conductors again, this is also easily possible. As with plugging in, the lever is opened and the cable is removed.

Application areas of WAGO terminals

Connecting cables is one of the most common tasks when connecting electronic devices in the home, converting a camper, or installing solar panels. Since WAGO terminal blocks can connect both stranded and solid conductors, the application possibilities are diverse. In addition, the terminal blocks can be used with any cable cross-section, making them flexible and compatible for every application. Two examples of applications include connecting solar modules to charge controllers or connecting loads to a battery.
